條條大路通羅馬。

“All roads lead to Rome.”

這是一句大家耳熟能詳的句子,它明著在2000年前,人們以為羅馬是世界的中心。如今,我們都知道羅馬不是世界的中心,但,它仍是一個得大家親身造訪的美麗古城。

This is a well-known English expression which reminds us that Rome used to be considered the ‘centre of the world’ about 2000 years ago. Now, Rome is no longer the centre of the world, but it is still a beautiful city which everyone should definitely visit.

羅馬最讓人嘆為觀止的便是那不可思議的古建築,例如羅馬競技場及羅馬萬神殿,是您走訪羅馬時不可錯過的景點。看到這些歷史悠久的建築至今仍屹立不搖,便可想見古羅馬建築技術的純熟。

The most important things to see in Rome are the amazing old buildings such as the Coliseum and the Pantheon. The fact that they are still standing today shows how skilled the ancient Romans were at building.

羅馬另一個特色便是那許多知名的噴水池。這些獨特的噴水池不但有著許多美麗的古羅馬雕刻神像作為裝飾,它們更將淡水帶入了城市的每個角落。當您造訪羅馬時,千萬別試圖在這些噴水池中游泳!

Rome also has many famous fountains that are a must-see. They bring fresh water into the city, and they contain beautiful statues of some of the old Roman gods. But don’t go swimming!

大家都知道義大利以美食著名,尤其在羅馬街道上到處可見餐廳及咖啡館,有些餐廳及咖啡館甚至位於古建築的頂樓呢! 有機會造訪羅馬,一定得好好品義大利餐,然後來杯咖啡,讓自己沉浸於羅馬古城的悠閒中。

Finally, Rome has many great restaurants and cafes serving delicious Italian food where you can sit and relax after lunch or dinner. Some of them are even on top of the old buildings!
